Our goal is to increase women's involvement in the political arena. The workshops will be presented from a "how to" premise so women will not only be informed but more importantly know that they can, and should, have more influence in the political arena. We will offer instruction on how to launch and build a successful career of involvement in politics; as a volunteer, a professional, part-time or full-time.

The summit will be pro-active by offering workshops in each of the areas where women can make a real difference and have influence in the political process. The following workshops will be conducted by experts and professionals:

  • You as a Candidate
  • You as a Political Consultant
  • You as a Grassroots Activist
  • You as a Lobbyist
  • You as a Fundraiser
  • You as a Board or Commission Member

Our keynote speaker will be our own RNC National Committeewoman Enid Mickelsen and we are excited that the RNC Co-Chairman Jan Larimer will attend and speak to the Summit Attendees. During lunch there will be a video presentation recognizing women from Utah who have been or are contemporary political leaders in Utah.

The program will not end with the summit. We will continue through the year with follow-up seminars and workshops where women will receive more detailed instructions, mentoring, and opportunities for networking and involvement.

I hope to see you there on September 24.

Best,

Kitty

Republican Primary Elections and Early Voting

The primary election is June 22nd. If you are not registered as a Republican you cannot vote in the Republican primary. You can change parties at the voting location if you are registered for a different party, but if you are unaffiliated you will not be able to vote.

Early voting runs from June 8-18

Some precincts will be sent their ballots via mail and will not have a physical polling place to go to. For more detailed information on voting visit http://kvnuforthepeople.com/2010/05/21/primary-registration-voting-information/

Challengers:

Legislative District 5 (the South West end of Logan and the South end of Cache Valley) will choose between incumbent Curt Webb and challenger Chuck Bateman for the Utah House of Representatives. You can listen to a debate between the two at this link: http://podcast.cachevalleydaily.com/FTP-06-03-2010B.mp3

Everyone in the valley will have the opportunity to vote for the county recorder's office. The race is against incumbent Michael Gleed vs challenger Stanley Palmer. (As far as we know they do not have websites).

Every Republican in the state will have the opportunity to vote for either Mike Lee or Tim Bridgewater for the US Senate seat.

Please research these candidates carefully. Examine what they say and their backgrounds and make an informed decision as you step into the voting booth. Happy voting!
